2. Parking lot

When you are looking for retail space, you want to make sure there is going to be plenty of parking, so everyone would be able to find a parking spot on your busiest day. You also want to make sure the parking lot offers customers a safe area to park that isn't too far a walk to the storefront. 

3. Exterior appeal

The exterior of your retail space is going to be the first thing customers see, so you want it to have a nice look to it. You also want to make sure it looks as if it goes with what you are going to be selling. For example, if you are going to be selling clothing, then you might not want a retail space that is in a center with nothing else but a lot of appliance and electronic shops because it will be easy for people to overlook your location when they drive by and assume everything in the shopping center is tool and equipment related. However, you would do well with a clothing shop that is in a center with shops like a shoe store, a hair salon, and a nail salon, because people will often expect fashion and beauty stores to be together. 

4. Signage

It's important to get a retail shop that is going to allow you to have a nice-sized sign that can be easily spotted from the street, so your customers can find your business space.
